Abu Dhabi (meaning Father of the Gazelle) is the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The capital sits just off the mainland in a T shaped island in the Persian Gulf and is the largest of the seven Emirates.
Although many visitors skip a visit to the capital in favour of the more popular Dubai, there are still many great reasons to visit this area and fantastic attractions to see such as the world-famous Ferrari World theme park, Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Camel rides in the Dunes and many more.
The culture and religion here are something that is very important and taken very seriously to any of the UAE cities and it should be respected. Shoulder and knees should be covered at all times when leaving your resort, the same also goes for men T-shirts are preferred over tank tops.
Although not all tourists follow these rules and wear normally holiday clothes as Abu Dhabi is slightly more relaxed, off resort this is not advised as it can attract unwanted attention from the locals.
If you are visiting a public beach of resort remain covered with clothes until you reach the beach. Swimsuits and shorts are permitted once on the beach.

Abu Dhabi is known as one of the best party destinations in the middle east and there are some fantastic rooftop bars and live music venues to be experienced. The bars offer a great middle eastern charm, with relaxing mood lighting and flavoursome cocktails. During some religious holidays, alcohol is not served at all and drinking is strictly forbidden in public places.
There are 4 main ways of transport around Abu Dhabi, bus, rental car, tour and taxi. The rental cars are very expensive and should be avoided if possible.
When using the buses, you can obtain a temporary chargeable travel card valid for up to 14 days from most bus stops. This is the easiest way as you just scan it, the card is usually scanned upon leaving the vehicle.
The government has its own taxi service that can be used who also offer ladies only taxies, taxis are metered and the rate depends on the time of day they are used.

It features 82 Domes, more than 1,000 columns and 24 carat gold chandeliers including the world’s largest chandelier.
Yas Marina Circuit
Yas Marina Circuit is home to Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix, the circuit is always open offering exciting activities. You are able to experience and drive a number of cars including the Formula Yas 3000, Mercedes-AMG GTS, Mercedes AMG Drag, Aston Martin GT4, Chevrolet Camaro and many more. You can also go on a guided tour of the famous track including areas only the race teams normally go.
