Statue of liberty
The famous New York landmark that features in nearly every film set in New York, the statue of liberty was gifted to New York by the French in 1886 to celebrate friendship designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel, from base to the tip of the torch it is a massive 305 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 225 tons! In 1986 the torch underwent restoration and was carefully covered with thin sheets of 24k gold. You can book day trips over to Liberty island to see the statue, inside there are 377 steps to climb to the crown! Make sure you go to the toilet as the only one is back down the 377 steps!

The Empire State building
Take in the views of the whole of New York and further from the 86th and 102nd floors of this spectacular Art Deco sky scraper! Located in midtown Manhattan when this building first opened in 1931 it held the record for the tallest building in the world! At 1,250 feet tall since its has been built is has captured the interest of millions and has a total of 73 elevators! The upper mast on top of the building was originally designed for mooring airships where I was intended that passengers would then exit via and open air gangplank and check in through customs; high winds however made this impossible and the idea was scrapped. Over 90 movies have features the empire state building the most popular being ‘King Kong’.
