Walter Marshall built the hall in 1881 with the intention of using it as a hunting box.
Mr. Marshall was a lover of fox hunting and Rutland is known as one of the best areas for this. Thus building the hall provided a great base for hunting.
Lovers of the sport would travel from surrounding states to join the hunting parties.
After 1975 the outside of Hambleton Hall changed as a result of the reservoir! This was due to the fact the house now sat in a prime location overlooking the water.

Exton Park is a stunning 18th-century park with over 500 hectares of land! Within the park is a 5-acre walled garden containing a beautiful ornamental lake.
You will also find a Gothic folly called Fort Henry, which is available for weddings.
